i have spent a few days with my old senpai from the… native? nagoya seitoku tennis team, and he has taken me along to a team meetup. apparently they are still still close and have dinners together, so they have challenged me to a drinking competition at a local restaurant. (i won).

it was a bit strange, because i was very not a part of the group, but they have tried their best to be kind and accommodating and i now feel a bit closer. it is a shame they did not get to go to the camp years ago because the invitations were for the other exchange students like me specifically, but i would have missed out meeting some other people if they had gone so maybe it works out.

aside from that i have gone on some garden tours and have seen nagoya castle and the tokugawa art museum and stuff. i have been before, when i was still here for school, but it is more interesting when i can look at my own pace.

tomorrow i will start heading south, so i think i will be in kumamoto at maybe friday. with the current schedule i think i will be in osaka in the last week of august or so, and then in kanagawa a bit into september. i can give more specific dates if people need it for maybe meeting up, though.

right now i am camping a littly by kyoto, so i can go and explore the city a bit tomorrow. i have been in the big temple before, so i will go and do something else this time. then i will still be at hiroshima for a bit and then i will be coming the way of kumamoto.

That's great that you were able to meet up with your old friends. Weren't there quite a few international students on your team back then?

it will be fun! i am thinking i will stay in osaka longer than i will stay in most other places, so it is good that you guys can show me around. it sounds like i will have very much to see.

i actually did not know most of these so well. the one who offered me to stay was hayashi-senpai, who was actually the captain. i saw more of the transfer students, but this was the team that did the regionals before the team got replaced with the exchange student program players, so it is a bit like they did not get to play because of us? i think they minded back then, but they were nice enough to talk to now.

We are looking forward to having you in Kumamoto. As An mentioned, we have a few places in mind. How has the drive been treating you so far?

It's really nostalgic seeing so many people I went to school with through the full six years of my time at Shiten, let alone you as an exchange student.
