the days always feel too much longer right before the exams are ending

it is probably not smart to be distracting myself just yet, but if i try and study more i will get a headache. so i am looking at my summer plans instead, which is now getting to be a big notebook with phone numbers and addresses i might need for my road trip. i am renting a car, so i will be mostly on my own schedule, which is nice.

the longer place i will be staying is in nagoya, because i want to trace some of the things i did back in school and try them again without a teacher overlooking things.

i was not the only one who japan left an impression on, because one of my old senpai from the exchange program apparently also lives there now? he and the old team captain have both offered me to stay with them a few days, so i will at least have a place to stay without it going out of my travel budget, which is nice. apparently the not exchange student part of the old regulars is still in a lot of contact? it's a bit awkward because i did not interact with them much at the time, but i will be meeting all of them there as well this time. it might help put some old things away.

after that, oshitari-san has given me a few things to look for in osaka already, and i know i will go to hiroshima and then down to kumamoto. an-senpai, tachibana-san, i do not know when i will be there exactly but let me know when you will stay there? i will see if it can work that i can come and visit for a bit.

are there other things people recommend doing while i am on the route?

If you go to the coast, south of Tokyo either on your way out or on your way back, thats where me and most ex-Rikkai's will be for the summer.

i do not know when i will be at osaka exactly since i am waiting on an-senpai to let me know some final dates for when to best be in kumamoto. but it will be by the later half of the trip i am thinking.

I'm so excited to hear all about your trip. It's gonna be a ton of fun! It's kinda amazing that you're gonna be renting a car, though. I'd be scared to drive that far, hahaha~ Probably gonna be a ton cheaper to do it that way than the trains, though.

it would probably be scarier if i was going to drive the entire thing in one go, but i have promised my parents i would not plan on any days with more than four or five hours of driving, and only if i take the day off before.

i will also get the chance to see more things because i am not waiting on buses and trains, so that will be fun. i will also do some camping so that would be hard to get to those spots without, and i would have to drag my tent on the bus...

You're right, that'd be a total hassle. Think of all the amazing places you could go camping!

they are often trying, since they are so far. they are a bit disappointed i think, that i did not go back to germany. but i have seen them in london so it should be fine. unless i sleep really badly i do not think it will be much of the problem that i will be driving longer stretches, especially since i was getting a bit out of practice with the car and need to not forget how to drive, too.

i am now at a campsite near kyoto since i am trying to keep a pace instead of finding the more interesting spots. i am thinking i will take a walk when i wake up and then go into the city, but later in the trip i want to seek out someplace more remote.
