i sent my mom a picture of me in which i had my hair up in the kind of messy way, and now she is nagging at me to get a haircut. it is a bit weird since i have had long hair since i was little and i did not think it has seemed to bother her before? 

since i said i did well in my exams my parents will often say they are hoping i will find a working way with my teachers to start my summer vacation early so i could catch the end of wimbledon in person. on one hand that is kind of cool, but on the other i would need to do extra work to make up for it, and it might be very awkward because i would not be there to support german players at all...

also i have been playing mario tennis aces and it is a lot of fun! i especially like that i can win with breaking the racket of my opponent instead of scoring the better points. it would have been expensive in real tennis i suppose, but also pretty funny. it would have been a strategy i would be good at i think.

yes! but also there are some people online who are so fast with their special attacks it is almost impossible to catch up to at all, which is keeping things interesting. do you have a favorite character to play as, tanegashima-san?

i like my long hair as well. i think short my hair would mostly look very boring normal.

If you were to go shorter, would you go super-short? Like, military short? That'd be boring. Medium hair might look good on you, though. ☆

that is impressive. we should, so i can practice to get better at countering the really high speed players. i like playing bowser, because he rhymes with my name.

i think i would miss being able to tie it up, even though i more often do not do that. i think the shortest i would go would have to still let me wear it up a little. would you wear your hair longer or shorter?

That makes sense - it's nice to get it off your neck. I think if I were going to do either, I'd either go longer or go with an undercut or something. I like my hair the way it is, but more curls is always better. ☆

long is also fun because there are many options with braids and such, though my hair is kind of thin and clips slide out very fast. does your hair curl more if it is longer? would you be like the dandelion puff evolution of tachibana-san if your hair grew out?

That's true - with your hair, you can do all kinds of fun styles. ☆ Mine, when it gets longer does keep its curl. My hair probably actually isn't that much shorter than Kippei's, if I were to straighten it.

You should do it. School is important, of course, but having experiences is more so. Especially if it's to support your friends.

Breaking your opponent's racquet? Hmm. It would also require that there were no available racquets to borrow, so that could make for a fascinating story. Haha. It is interesting to me that it's a strategy in the game. Does it follow the rules of tennis otherwise? Admittedly, I'm pretty bad with video games, so I'm uncertain.

i got gum caught in my hair once when i was maybe 14? i had to cut it off to shoulder length and for two weeks some people took a while to recognize me. i actually remember back when we were at the camp someone explained to me about your hair, i think it was kite-san or one of his friends? it sounded like a big image change.

i have been to wimbledon before back when it was easier to reach, but that was before akaya-kun and the others joined in. i do want to go, so i will have to think about it even though it will be awkward either way, probably.

there is a preset number of the spare rackets available per match, and the move to take out a racket all at once will take a while to charge. there are some weird rules with portals or obstacles on the field, and the points are counted a bit shorter to keep the matches from getting too long, but it is mostly regular tennis.

Oh no. I would have been devastated at that age. Really? Interesting, I don't recall it being a topic of discussion. I have left the dark roots behind in my early middle school days, but I certainly feel more like myself with my hair long and blonde.

it was upsetting at the time i think, but probably also my own fault. it is hair though, so at least it grew back. i think the worst thing anyone else has done to it was to put colored hairspray on it, because with my color it is very long before the weird shadows are gone.

i am actually going to screen this comment now because i want to ask you for help? i have a family member who is part of the competition so my parents want me to go very much, and to convince me to go they have offered to pay a share of a second plane ticket and give a tournament ticket to... well, they say girlfriend but that is them not listening to me. which is referring to an-senpai.

it is a kind of weird thing to give, but do you think she would accept coming along as a birthday gift? i know that she does want to go, but i also see why it would be kind of much...

and i think maybe if you see a portal as a ball disappearing in one place and reappearing in another then you may have used tennis portals before!

i think that wearing your hair in a way because of other people instead of because you want it to be that way always feels kind of sad and not as good in confidence? you should color your hair what you want it to be, oshitari-san, i agree.

you should say what you think when you try it! mario kart is of course also a good game, but there is always the space for tennis.

i think oshitari-san stands out quite a lot even just with personality, but because i am very tall and very foreign maybe my view of standing out is a bit warped. i think your hair color right now looks nice though.

it is complicated, but they want me to be cheering more for a german player than akaya-kun or the other japanese players.

yoshi is faster in running speed than most, but there are plenty of people who play a more high speed gameplay style. you should ask tanegashima-san.

It's a lot more common to see foreigners in the city than the rural areas, so you probably don't get as many stares. Sometimes I get kids stare at me because they think I'm not Japanese because of my hair, but then they hear me speak and then they're just ultra confused by my dialect. They're cute.

Oh, okay. Well, you should cheer for who you want to cheer for. That's important. Who cares if they're German or Japanese or whatever.

Perhaps it was because she mistakenly got the impression that you were habitually wearing your hair in an unkempt fashion. Personally, I think the long hair suits you.

Surely they would understand if you were to support your friends and acquaintnaces? It is hardly unreasonable.

I recently told Hirakoba-san that he shouldn't cut his hair. I think if you're happy with growing it out or keeping it at its current length then you shouldn't listen to your mom. Perhaps she thinks putting it up like that makes you look too different and she doesn't like that, but plenty of men with longer hair have been putting it up into ponytails and "man buns" though I heard the latter can cause hair loss, so I don't recommend doing up dos tightly if you'd like to keep your hair.

i have had my hair this long for nearly all my life, with only a few times it was shorter. i think it has maybe only been shorter than yours is when i was very small? either way it is strange she has a problem with it now, and i am not going to cut it. if she has the issue with it, she is on the other continent so it is not like she has to see much.

...i do not think a man bun would look very good at me. i think those are for the people with the little bit of beard and big glasses, no? beards do not suit me, i am too blond for them so the hair on my face grows in too dark and the contrast is just weird. i will pass on the bun.

Maybe there is some underlying issue going on and your mom has decided to use it as reason to remark about your hair. That's a stupid reason, but is one nonetheless and if she hasn't had a problem until now, then I think something else is probably going on and she's taking it out on you which isn't fair at all, but good on you for sticking to your resolve. If not a man bun, then a messy bun? My sisters often do this to get hair out of their eyes while working on a project because sometimes the ponytail gets in the way, so if it's up in a bun, it can't. I don't think you need a beard, but you have a nice jaw structure and could probably pull it off, even if there is a difference of color, but you also look just fine as is, so if you don't wish to grow one out, then you don't have to.
